You’re fired. Manhattan workaholic Hayley Weaver is out of work, out of
money and out of luck. Facing eviction, she grabs the first job offered,
house-sitting movie star Paulette Stone’s New Jersey home. Hayley swore
she’d never go back to Jersey but she’s hit rock bottom. The job sounds
like a snap and the answer to her prayers. She should have known Jersey
would throw a curve ball. Paulette neglected to mention her exotic
menagerie and more critters than the Beverly Hillbillies in residence.
Small town Jersey veterinarian Jake Marx is desperate to meet a woman he
hasn’t known since kindergarten. Animal phobic Hayley has Jake on speed
dial and the whole town is backing Hayley as their candidate to solve
Jake’s love-starved life
"Elle Druskin brings to life a New Jersey like you’ve never seen before
with this feel-good story. Hayley Weaver is a very sympathetic character
who is so enjoyable to watch stumble through all of her setbacks. I
found myself cheering her on and hoping this would turn out just the way
she needed them to. Jake Marx is a fabulous hero, the kind of man all
little girls dream of marrying; a kind veterinarian with small town
pride and morals. The fact that he is so laid back to her uptightness
and that he can laugh about almost anything is just the healing balm she
needs for her run of bad luck. I honestly found myself a little envious!
I appreciated the nostalgia of this story and that it gave me a whole
new view of New Jersey after being inundated with reality tv! I loved
the location and I’m hoping to see some of the other residents get their
own adventures."

I, Ladybug Lin loved this story.
Ms. Druskin knows how to create fun for her readers, and that is quite a
talent. Writing humor effectively, is, I think the hardest form of
creative writing there is, but Ms. Druskin pulls it off so well, it
looks and feels easy.
